Having tailored our curriculum for kindergarten students, we are thrilled to offer our unique program to our participants!
Grades K-3 Program
Established in the fall of 2007, TEFC’s K-3 program is designed to expose its participants to the introductory elements of theatre. Throughout this program, children take part in lessons, games, and activities focused on promoting, producing, and performing an original play at the end of each session. Focusing on these core elements, theatre students work as a team to bring a story to life. They learn basic acting techniques, develop simple choreography, create set designs and costumes, and learn by doing!
This unique eight week program helps to foster team-work and cooperation, advance understanding of story structure and character as well as developing public speaking skills and increasing self-esteem. It is designed to support and enhance the talents of all those involved.
Grades 4-6 Program
Our innovative Theatre Enrichment for Children 4-6 grade workshop is a six week program with a varying weekly focus area. It is designed to pick up where our K-3 program left off. Where our K-3 participants gained exposure to the introductory elements of putting on a theatrical performance, our fourth, fifth, and sixth grade participants will focus more directly on developing the craft of performing. Each week, students will play games and work on creating dramatic, improvisational, comedic, and skit performances.
This unique program aids its participants in improving their public speaking abilities as well as supports them as they work to improve their abilities to work cooperatively in groups. It is designed to support and enhance the talents of all those involved.
